A punk band against the apocalypse
Charlie Murder is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where the band Charlie Murder fights the rival death metal group Gore Quaffer and their armies. You hack and slash through waves of enemies, including zombies and other horrors, in a story about saving the world from the rival band. The game mixes its action with RPG systems, so your character grows stronger as you play. It was originally released in 2013 on Xbox360.
Playing with your group
You can team up with friends for online co-op to lead the band through the quest together. The game also supports Remote Play Together, and it has local co-op for playing on the same screen. Beyond working together, there is online PvP if your group wants to fight each other instead of the enemy hordes.
What to know before starting
Progress comes from hoarding loot to buff your character and change how you look. You earn fans, which unlock powerful finishers and team-up moves to use in fights. Tattoos channel your "Anar-Chi," and there are relics of modern myth to uncover along the way. Expect a violent, gore-filled tone with a heavy rock soundtrack running through it.
