A retro dungeon crawler built on loot

Bit Heroes Quest is a 2D pixel RPG where you explore a vast open world inspired by 8-bit and 16-bit dungeon heroes and monsters. Combat is old school and turn-based, so fights play out one move at a time rather than in real time. The core loop is simple: clear dungeons, pick up loot, get stronger, and push into harder content. Levels, dungeons, and raids are randomly generated, which keeps runs from feeling identical. On top of dungeon crawling, there is a PvP arena where you fight other players, plus weekly events and raids to chase prizes. An original chiptune soundtrack runs under all of it, in the style of something from an NES cartridge.

Building your team and your gear

Loot is the main driver of power. There are thousands of pieces of gear to mix, match, upgrade, craft, and recycle, so most of your time goes into sorting what you found and turning it into something better. Your party grows the same way: capture creatures, monsters, and powerful bosses, then evolve them so they fight at your side. Pets are part of this too, with options like a floating pizza or a tiny unicorn. Guilds matter for progression as well. Leveling up your guild unlocks a special shop with powerful bonuses, and guild chat gives you a place to swap strategies with the people you play alongside.

Playing with friends

Team up with friends or your guild to take on ultra-difficult dungeons that hold the best treasure. These are the fights where a coordinated group pays off, since the difficulty is tuned well beyond what a solo run handles. Raids are the other group activity, and they sit alongside the PvP arena if you want to test your build against other players directly. World and Guild Chat keep everyone in the same conversation while you plan a run or compare drops. A network connection is required to play, so your group needs to be online together.

Before you start

Bit Heroes Quest is free-to-play, and some extra game items can be bought with real money. You can turn off in-app purchases in your device settings if you would rather not use them. The game adds new content over time, including new pixel dungeons, armor sets, mythic items, familiars, and fusions, plus a raid involving the Olympians. Achievements track your victories and lucky finds, each one carrying a reward.
