Old-school WW2 team shooting
Army Troop is an online first-person shooter set in World War 2. You pick a soldier class such as Infantry, Recon, Tank Crew or Paratrooper, then choose a weapon from a wide spread of WW2 categories: assault rifles, SMGs, snipers, shotguns, pistols, grenades, LMGs, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers. Each weapon has its own combat properties, so the loadout changes how a firefight feels. You can also set class perks like Recoil Reducer or Fast Aim, and attach weapon accessories such as a sight scope or silencer, plus pick a weapon skin. Matches run on a variety of WW2 maps.
Playing with your group
Team deathmatch and free-for-all are the modes on offer, and both can be played online or in a private match with your Steam friends. In a private match you decide whether bots are allowed to fill empty slots. If you would rather practice alone, you can start a match against bots only, with no real players able to join. The bot system is built to keep a match at exactly 5 vs 5 when there are not enough people online: bots take custom names, pick classes and equipment, and move, aim, crouch, prone, jump, dodge, hide and camp the way players do.
Before you jump in
The controls are designed to be easy to pick up, and the interface is kept simple. The game is still being worked on, with new maps, weapons, equipment, perks, characters and skins arriving in updates, along with more modes in development. Optimization and matchmaking are also being tuned over time. Expect a violent, realistic war setting with gore present in the combat.
