Bug Cleaners turns a cleaning job into a four-person online co-op operation. You and up to three friends move through infested properties, deal with bug nests, clean surfaces, and finish the other tasks attached to each location. You have a cat that can detect hidden nests, a pesticide machine, a vacuum, and a blowtorch, so the work shifts between searching, scrubbing, and dealing with much larger pests than a normal household call would involve.

The current Early Access version has five maps: Small House, Big House, Convenience Store & Laundromat, Parking Lot, and Greenhouse. Side mechanics and mini-games add variety across those locations. The mix is less about a long campaign story and more about a string of cleanup jobs with different spaces and tasks. If your group wants a shared task list with plenty of room for comic chaos, that is the pitch.

## A cleanup job with a bigger problem inside

The basic job sounds straightforward: go into an infested location and leave it cleaner than you found it. In practice, the infestation is only one part of the work. The houses and businesses have ordinary messes as well as insects, and the game’s tools point toward several kinds of interaction. You can eliminate bugs, vacuum them up, wash dirty surfaces, carry rubbish, and handle level-specific tasks. That gives a group a more varied loop than simply sweeping a room until a bar fills.

A house can feel familiar for a moment: rooms, furniture, laundry, bags of rubbish, dirt on walls. Then the pests begin to turn that setting into a problem that asks for more force than a mop. A convenience store and laundromat bring a different mix of chores; a greenhouse swaps domestic clutter for plant-filled space and insects among the greenery. The parking lot gives the jobs an outdoor setting. The current map list covers a few recognizable locations, but not a huge city to roam freely; each is a mission-sized worksite with its own goals.

The mission structure is task-based. You enter a level, complete its jobs, and clear bug nests. Objectives can include extermination and cleaning, while side mechanics and mini-games add diversions along the way. Each map has its own bug type, and the side mechanics vary across the five locations. The list is still compact, however: you are choosing among five current worksites rather than a large set of procedurally generated jobs.

## Your tools cover more than one kind of mess

The extermination tools have distinct jobs. The pesticide machine sprays bugs, while the vacuum sucks them up. The blowtorch takes a more dramatic approach, sending fire into a room or against an oversized insect. You can also squish small bugs with your hands or stomp them. The weapons are intentionally broad and cartoonish rather than a realistic pest-control kit; one moment you are handling a routine mess, and the next the blowtorch is the tool on screen.

Cleaning equipment matters too. A water gun washes grime from surfaces, including walls, and ordinary chores can include rubbish and laundry. That means the same room may ask for several kinds of attention: bugs to remove, grime to wash, and items or trash to deal with. The task list gives the job a clear endpoint, while the visible mess makes progress easy to read. The game combines a satisfying before-and-after cleanup with action when the pests get in the way.

Sniffers, the cat, is the stranger tool in the kit. The cat can detect hidden nests. When a level asks you to remove them, the search changes the rhythm from spraying whatever is in front of you to checking places where the source of the infestation might be tucked away. A nest can be less obvious than a moving bug, so spotting the trail and locating the target are their own part of the job.

There is a bit of physical comedy in the setup. Your character is not only aiming equipment: you can use your hands and feet against smaller bugs. With friends, the busy rooms and oversized tools leave plenty of room for playful mishaps alongside the cleanup. The tools, bright hazmat suits, cat companion, and outsized insects keep the tone closer to goofy worksite chaos than horror. Bugs can crawl into view and larger specimens can turn a quiet room into a fight, but the game presents the whole cleanup as a comic job.

## Five locations, with more still planned

The five available levels give the current game its main source of variety. Small House and Big House set the action in lived-in rooms, where bug removal sits beside household tasks. Convenience Store & Laundromat puts a shop and laundry setting into one location. The Parking Lot and Greenhouse move the cleanup outside or into a glass growing space. Different surfaces, objects, and bug types can change what a job looks like without changing the broad idea of entering a place, finding the problems, and clearing the goals.

Each level also has its own bug type, which gives the infestation a different identity as the setting changes. The oversized pests can include spiders, beetles, and centipedes, so the visual scale shifts from ordinary grime to an insect that can dominate a room. That contrast is central to the game’s comic tone: a familiar chore can share space with a much larger target, and the same crew handles both parts of the assignment. The five locations are distinct worksites rather than an open world; variety comes from their different spaces, bugs, and job mix.

That setup is easy to understand with friends because the assignment stays visible: finish tasks, eliminate bugs, and find nests. You and up to three friends share the cleanup job; it is cooperative work, not a contest between opposing teams. The playful tone leaves room for jokes as you work through the tasks together.

Mini-games and side mechanics add breaks from the cleanup itself. These activities can be played solo or with friends, so sampling them does not require a full lobby. They sit within the maps rather than forming a separate party-game collection with a long roster of modes. Together with the map-specific bug types, they add another layer to the current set of jobs: there is the main cleanup, the local infestation, and an occasional change of activity. The Early Access version is built around the five sites and their tasks; its scope may change as development continues.

The roadmap includes five more maps and additional mechanics, animations, sound, and music during Early Access. Those additions are planned, not available content. For now, the game’s replay value comes from taking on its existing locations, seeing the different bugs and task mixes, and trying the side activities with a group. The breadth is modest compared with a full-length cleaning campaign, but each location offers a different setting and a new round of cleanup.

## The cat helps, but the search can still take time

Nests are a different objective from chasing visible bugs. Sniffers can help find them, yet the final few can take longer to locate, especially when one is tucked into a hard-to-see spot. If the crew has removed most of the bugs but a level still has an outstanding nest, the last stretch can become a search through the room rather than another action sequence.

That is one of the trade-offs in a game that mixes cleaning with extermination. Removing dirt is visually legible, and a bug in the open gives you an immediate target. A nest search depends more on noticing a clue and then finding the source, which can be less satisfying when the target blends into the environment or the hint is unclear. The cat gives the game a distinctive way to handle that task, but it does not turn every search into an instant reveal.

## Is it a fit for your group?

Bug Cleaners supports solo play and online co-op for up to four players total. The game requires broadband internet. An invite code is available in the pause menu. The game runs on Windows 10 or newer. Its minimum specs are an Intel Core i3-6100 or AMD FX-8350, 8 GB of memory, and a GTX 580 or Radeon HD 7870.

This is a good fit for friends who like collaborative objectives, cleaning games, and a tone that can swing from methodical to ridiculous. One map can ask the group to work through household tasks while insects keep appearing; another adds a greenhouse or shop setting, with a different bug type and side activities. The cat, varied tools, and task checklist make the work easy to understand, while the nest hunt and larger bugs add moments that interrupt the routine.

The limits are just as clear. There are five current maps, and the game is in Early Access, so content and polish may change. Nests can take time to find, which can slow down the last part of a job. If you want a large set of polished missions, the current version may not be the match. If four friends want to turn ordinary cleanup into a small, silly extermination job, Bug Cleaners gives you a compact set of places to tackle together.
